Forty Foot pulls out all the stops in May.

by admin on May 27, 2010

Well, it’s just the end of May now and Forty Foot has had a busy month, firstly representing Ireland as part of the second edition of Doc-Europa, organised by the Portuguese documentary association Apordoc, screening first at Oporto (7-9 May) and then in Lisbon (14-16 May).

In between those two dates Forty Foot made its way to the Busan International Short Film Festival, South Korea, to screen in competition as part of the “International Short Prism” and this is what they said about it…

“The unique place which becomes one of legend with many stories in the time flowing..In the place, people enjoy their lives and be close friends with the precious present from God..The director shows importance of nature metaphorically through the people’s play.”

Forty Foot’s crowning glory for the month of May was its screening in competition at SIFF, (Seattle International Film Festival) (21st May). Two of the filmmakers (Leticia Agudo & Paul McGrath) were able to attend the screening and the eventful opening weekend of this 25-day long festival with the support of Culture Ireland.

Last, but by no means least, Forty Foot screened at The Henley International Film Festival; THE-HIFF is an international documentary film festival in Henley-on Thames (UK) that celebrates and showcases the best in international feature and short documentary filmmaking.

Forty Foot has been selected for competition for the Best International Short Film Award. The festival runs from 25th to 29th May 2010.

Forty Foot has certainly earned itself a little break but not for too long, we will be back with more festivals and updates soon.

Bye.
