Forty Foot is thrilled to be part of the first Irish Short Films Summer Showcase in Shanghai

On July 14, the Consulate General of Ireland, in co-operation with the Irish Centre, presents a summer showcase of Irish Short Films in Shanghai. Speaking in advance of the showcase the Consul-General of Ireland, Mr Austin Gormley, said:

“This is an opportunity to introduce Shanghai audiences to the best of Irish short and animated films in a relaxed and friendly setting.  We expect that the events will raise awareness of Ireland as a hub of creative film ideas and talent and a world-class location for filming. I am delighted that the event is taking place in the Irish Centre, which is a great venue to promote cultural exchange between Shanghai and Ireland.”

The Short Film Showcase will introduce new and innovative filmmaking through short stories, animation, documentaries, and slices of Irish life. The films have been carefully selected to give audiences a taste of Irish culture, particularly the art of storytelling and Irish wit.

The event will be free and will be accompanied by refreshments! There will be a discussion salon after the showing, about the films watched and the art of movies led by a local expert. We look forward to seeing you there!
